The Future

Question 8:   I hear a lot of prophesies of awful events to come. Are they true?

Mataji/John's response:  While the future isn't fixed; there are only a range of likely futures for the planet, just as there are only a range of likely futures for any particular person. When I look at the future, I am confident the world will become an almost unrecognizably better place as quickly as the next thirty years. Even over the next ten years, the world will improve greatly. Of course bad events will continue, just fewer than before.

This isn't to say that those making the scary prophesies are merely delusional. Some may be, but some are genuinely tapping into issues that must be addressed by humans. They are tapping into dream levels and higher frequency states where human issues are addressed in different terms than in our physical reality. There the karma and stories of humankind are organized and understood as well as they can be in those dimensions. Whenever further action is required for human understanding to continue to grow and expand, then energy of that karma is prepared for further materialization.

It is this other dimensional environment that the prophet tries to apprehend and interpret. Both apprehending and interpreting these energies can be tricky. Apprehending these dimensions necessarily utilizes the beliefs and biases of the apprehender, and sometimes one sees more of one's presuppositions than the other dimension.

Interpreting these dimensions is difficult for at least three reasons. First, not all information one perceives refers to our current time or world. The information might instead refer to an event that happened in another time, or even another world, which contributes to the global karma we face today. If, for example, a flood occurred in Atlantis when people faced the predecessor of some issue we face today, that flood image might appear very strongly and with forceful emotions to someone trying to evaluate what is likely to happen now. The person might mistake seeing that we must deal with the karma of an earlier flood, for a certainty that we will experience a flood now

Second, images that are metaphoric can be interpreted to be literal. The great Edgar Cayce predicted early in the last century that practically the whole United States would be covered by floods in the 60's and 70's. Those of us who lived through those times can vouch for the fact that a metaphorical flood, a flood of emotion and strife, covered most of the United States, and much of the rest of the world. Still, there weren't any floods that matched Edgar Cayce's literal predictions

Third, the nature of awareness is different in those dimensions. In this dimension, the prediction of death for half the planet means billions would die. There we have a shared awareness, and the truth is that horrors done to one are done to us all. When perhaps 600,000 Rwandans were brutally murdered a few years ago, that wasn't billions, but it was a horror that affected billions of us in the dream state. So I don't necessarily believe that those awful prophesies have no relevance. I believe their relevance is karmic, metaphorical and more limited than the prophets state. After hearing such prophesies every year or so for more than 30 years, often from good to excellent psychics, I am comfortable in my own perceptions that, bad as things are, global karma is clearing, global awareness is growing (relatively little of that growing awareness currently focuses on psychic matters), and things are getting better (even ecological issues are moving towards possible resolution, something not practically possible earlier).
